Sam is a Principal Director at Barker Evans and practises almost exclusively in family law. He advises clients across the full spectrum of matters, with particular expertise in complex financial cases, high-value asset pools, Financial Agreements, parenting disputes, family violence, surrogacy, substance abuse, and child relocation matters.
Known for his strategic and commercially focused approach, Sam combines technical expertise with practical, outcome-driven advice. He routinely appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, as well as the Local Court and District Court of NSW, when there is an overlap between family law and criminal matters. Sam is also an experienced negotiator.

Before joining Barker Evans in 2021, Sam practised in the Family Law team of a respected boutique law firm in Newcastle, New South Wales.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from the University of Newcastle.
