BARKER EVANS

Resolution Pathways

Family dynamics are as diverse as they are complex. When faced with legal matters involving family relationships, having the right guidance can make all the difference.

Whether you’re dealing with divorce, child custody disputes, or other family-related matters, our goal is to provide you with the tools and guidance to reach a resolution that is fair, equitable, and in the best interests of all parties involved.

You should obtain advice from a top family lawyer who can give you expert family law advice specific to your individual matter.

The team at Barker Evans are experienced in a variety of Family Law Resolution Pathways, offering a range of approaches to help you navigate challenges, find solutions, and pave the way for a brighter future.

Our Services

Negotiation

Negotiation is the most straightforward way of resolving a family law dispute. Here you and your ex-partner, with our assistance, resolve your dispute by entering a discussion where both parties can enter a mutually agreeable outcome.

Mediation

Mediation is a dispute resolution process where parties involved in a dispute are assisted by an independent third party, a “mediator” to help them reach an agreement. If an agreement is made between the parties through mediation, these agreements can be formalised by the Court.

Collaborative Practice

Collaborative Practice involves both parties coming together, assisted by legal representation, to arrive at the best solution for both parties. Unlike litigation or mediation, Collaborative Practice enables you and your ex-partner to resolve your issues in a non-adversarial way, outside of the Court.

Arbitration

Arbitration is a dispute resolution process similar to mediation, where parties to a financial dispute present arguments and evidence to an independent arbitrator, selected by the parties, who then make a determination resolving the dispute.

Litigation

Litigation refers to having your parenting or property dispute being decided by a Judge or Judicial Registrar of the Court. This approach to Family Law disputes is straining, both financially and emotionally.
